Kenya Federation of Roller Skating

KFRS is the national legal body that governs all roller sports in the Republic of Kenya. It was founded in 1997 as Kenya Confederation of Roller Skating (KCRS) before changing its names to the current name, KFRS.
Currently, the Federation serves a large population of Kenyans, mostly youth.

It is a great pleasure to welcome everyone who visits our website of KENYA FEDERATION OF ROLLER SKATING.

My name is ANTONY MBURU, The PRESIDENT of this National Skating Governing body that Assists, Supervises, promotes and Directs the Skating brotherhood in Kenya.

Excecutive Summary

Kenya Federation for Roller Skating is committed to the ongoing development of a strong and unified sport for all participants. Skating is a sport that provides an unobstructed continuous pathway for all while demonstrating the capacity to thrive at the elite level and develop opportunities for the base. We believe in the product we offer the Kenyan sporting community.

Strategic planning is pivotal for effective development & administration of sport. This plan outlines, for skating, the foundation for our efforts, programs and focus over the next five years. The plan will provide a clear direction for the sport, provide an outline of the activities we will undertake and set some ambitious targets for the sport to grow. As has been the case over the last three years, the sport will continue to set itself to achieve the highest of standards with the sole endeavor of providing a better sport for the next generation our focus.

The plan is the result of extensive consultation and collaboration between stakeholders at all levels in the game. The structure of the organization and relationships developed over the recent past ensure we step forward unified in purpose.

Our federation is composed of four desciplines;

  2. 2. Inline Hockey
  3. 3. Inline freestyle
  4. 4. Skateboarding

Leadership

The leadership of KFRS is managed by a National Executive Council comprising of 17 members: The Chair, Deputy Chair, Secretary General, 8 Regional coordinators 3 Discipline directors, Clubs representative, Female and Male athletes' representatives.

Vision

To be a world class sports federation.

Mission

  1. - Enhance the image and stature of the great game of skating on an international level.
  2. - Promote the practice of the sport worldwide.
  3. - Unite skating clubs of the many counties that play the sport under one Federation.
  4. - Promote the concepts of friendship, team spirit, equality, respect, integration and embrace the idea of fair play and safety.

Objectives

  1. - Build skating parks across the country.
  2. - Support Counties in provision of resources to facilitate the development of the sport.
  3. - Register more clubs for the sport that will serve as training platforms for new skaters.
  4. - Train clubs and officials in club and financial management.
  5. - Support both the county governments and the central government in curbing crime while improving standards of living for society.
